Listes British companies - Ocado, J Sainsbury, Next, Tesco, Pearson - are hopes for Tesla. According to the Financial Tiems, share-prices of some big companies in FTSE100 have risen by 20% - 170%, so some hedgefunds which took short position about them burn totally.
Ocado, online grocery seller, has followed Amazon, US online retailer, and its share-prices skyrockeyed by more than 170%. Short-sold shares were 12 - 13% of outstanding shares, but the number decreased to 5% in last August. The hedgefunds which took positions agianst the above names has taken loss-cut, so the short-sold shares had decreased.
As I kept insisting, the short positions against totally healthy companies do not be problem at all to their rally. In fact, they could be catalyst to the rally, brining Short-squeeze.
